Job Description:
The Medical Assistant works with the physician and other members of the primary or specialty care team by performing a variety of clinical and administrative patient-related duties, in the Front Office or Back Office.
The medical assistant also works to fulfill a variety of patient needs and ensures smooth patient flow within the department, including gathering, organizing and documenting healthcare data information.
Additionally, if assigned to the Call Center, the MA will be responsible for answering and routing patient calls, scheduling of patient appointments per department guidelines.
The medical assistant reports directly to the practice manager, RN supervisor or director.
Education:
Completion of Medical Assistant Program - Accredited Required
Experience:
1 year Ambulatory Preferred1 year Electronic Medical Records (EMR) PreferredCertifications/Licensures:
BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association - Certification RequiredCertified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Preferred orCMA - Certified Medical Assistant Preferred andSpecialty areas may have additional requirementsPhlebotomy Technician Certification (CPT) PreferredSkills:
Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Bilingual preferred.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
